CEMEX engages youth in nation-building through arts

A painting of a mason’s face overlaid with smiling faces of young people with their hands joined together stresses the youth's importance in society being the future leaders of the country. The grand prize painting titled “Our Next Great Foundations” by Mark Anthony Laza, a 2nd year Fine Arts Student of the Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology, best depicts the theme “Cementing Growth in the Philippines” of CEMEX Philippines' 1st IMPACT (IMages of Progress in ACTion) Painting Competition. Paul Arcenas, vice president for strategic planning at CEMEX Philippines, is shown with the painting, elated over Laza's talent and the success of IMPACT in encouraging the youth's participation in nation-building and the company's CSR program dubbed Build the Nation Together with one of the clusters called Build Arts and Culture. Building solutions company CEMEX Philippines awarded the winners of the painting and photography categories of IMPACT at the Asian Institute of Management Conference Center in January and displayed the winning entries at Glorietta 3 in February as part of the celebration of the national arts month.
