Over five thousand children from nine elementary schools in the City of Naga, Cebu have already received dental kits from CEMEX Philippines. With the company maintaining its momentum towards its goal for the “Isang Milyong Sipilyo” Program, more and more kids are taught about the importance of oral health.
In celebration of the national dental health month, CEMEX, through its member company Apo Cement Corporation, partnered with the City of Naga Dental Health Office in visiting different public schools in the city to promote oral health and dental hygiene to school children and provide them with dental kits.
The program officially commenced at CEPOC Elementary School in Tina-an, Naga. The event was actively participated by school administrators, teachers, and pupils. Regional Dental Supervisor Dr. Expedito Medalla, Philippine Dental Association Board of Trustee Dr. Clarissa Jane Pe, City of Naga Dental Health Officer Dr. Ethel Uy, Apo HR Administrator Danilo Antonio, and Apo Community Relations Officer Marlito Cabigas also joined the kickoff.
Medalla expressed her appreciation to Apo Cement Corporation and the Local Government Unit of Naga for being strong partners in promoting oral health for the past 16 years.
City of Naga Mayor Valdemar Chiong and Apo Cement Plant Director Gery Rota set their commitment to continue the legacy of bringing white and healthy smiles to school children in Cebu.
Aside from CEPOC Elementary School, other recipient elementary schools include Cabuan (Cogon), Inoburan, Jaguimit, Mainit, Mayana, Naalad, Pangdan, and Tagjaquimit.
